Davies Owens

Dr. W. Davies OwensDavies has been a part of BlueSky since it’s earliest beginning.  As Michael Tremain was discerning how to best proceed with this dream of starting an innovation lab for the church in 2001, Davies felt called to joined forces with Michael and bring his passion and experience from years in local ministry.

Davies is a graduate of Duke University Divinity School and has served as an ordained minister for over fifteen years. Davies earned a doctorate from Gordon-Conwell Seminary with the focus of his dissertation on the role of technology in building Biblical community.  He spent a year working in Silicon Valley for Christianity.com as the Director of Church and Community Development where he gained valuable insight into the opportunities and challenges the church faces today in using creative technology in a practical way. 

After serving for more than five years on the BlueSky staff, most recently as the Executive Director, Davies now serves as the Head of School of Heritage Preparatory School in Atlanta.  Davies work at this classical Christian school is another arena where he is shaping the culture using innovation.  Davies stays actively involved in BlueSky as a board member and innovator.

Davies lives in his hometown of Atlanta with his wife Holly, daughter Hannah and two boys Liam and Bennett.  They also have two hairy, four-footed children named Jake and Riley.
